The key of the provision of high-quality medical care by the Center is the safety of patients and their families.
In this context, measures have been taken to minimize the damage suffered by patients during their health care, as well as to prevent and control nosocomial infections, in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2011/24 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of March 9, 2011 that have been adapted-incorporated in Law 4213/2013 (Government Gazette 261 / 09.12.2013).
The main objectives concerning patient safety are:
- Identification of the patient at each stage of hospitalization-treatment through the application of a unique identification number (barcode)
- Improving staff communication
- Use of medicines safely
- Reduction of risks related to the provision of health services
- Prevention and control of nosocomial infections
- Identification of other risks for patient safety
The staff of the Center obtains the informed consent of the patient (or his / her authorized representative) for a diagnostic or therapeutic operation, or provides to the patient (or his / her authorized representative)
the possibility of refusing or revoking the consent
The provision of health services is based on the implementation of protocols and instructions based on internationally accepted rules and practices, in order to ensure the avoidance of adverse events.
Side effects related to the administration of drugs or the use of medical devices are notified to the National Organization of Medicines, based on the applicable legislation on pharmacovigilance and material vigilance.
